How to control the quality?

1.Quality Control Procedures

Quality control can be divided into three types:

1). Concerning structure design of light steel;

2). Concerning the manufacture of singular member such as steel tube, WEBSTEEL brace, installation, panel, et al;

3). Concerning quality control of assembly and construction.

2.Quality control for design

To ensure the design quality of WEBSTEEL structure, the structure designer who is familiar with I.B.S should be in charge of structure design. The structure designer who adopts I.B.S should be responsible for the whole structure design. The structure designer must ensure that the standards of I.B.S and local applicable standards are met by his design.

3.Quality control for member

To ensure the quality of each singular member, provider/manufacturer of member has the obligation to ensure that the member is manufactured strictly abiding by this document or requirements of other document on WEBSTEEL. Provider/manufacturer of each member must provide written papers which guarantee the quality of assembly member for WEBSTEEL assembly factory. The sampling survey on quality of manufactured member must be institutionalized. The samples from random sampling of WEBSTEEL brace, installation and steel tube must be sent to recognized test laboratory for examination.

4.Quality control for member assembly

To ensure the quality of assembly, each worker participating assembly must receive training concerning assembly technology of WEBSTEEL structure to enable them to achieve better understand on quality requirement of assembly. All the assembly workers must be working under the supervision of qualified director (foreman) who ensures that the assembly of each member meets the strict requirements of this document or other document on WEBSTEEL. The sampling survey on quality of manufactured member must be institutionalized. The samples from random sampling of assembly member must be sent to qualified test laboratory which is recognized by the corporation for examination.
